Shandra has lovingly provided my daughter the opportunity to find her love of music through both piano and flute. Through gentle but very effective means, Shandra has very swiftly taken her from beginner to intermediate on piano and has given her an outlet for her creativity. My daughter joined her school band this year and Shandra gave her the tools to excel at flute, which has made us all very proud. I am certain that she will be in band throughout her school years because of her experience with Shandra.
Shandra's approach includes all aspects of music studies, from scales to mechanics to theory while still allowing our daughter to learn pieces she is most interested in playing. Our home is always filled with music now and I know that music will always be a part of her life. Thank-you Shandra.

Shandra Love is a great piano teacher. She began teaching my daughters 2 years ago. I am extremely pleased with how well they both play the piano and their understanding of music theory and the ability to read the notes.
She has a very well rounded approach and which includes theory lessons, recitals, and competitions as part of her yearly curriculum. Her teaching style is the perfect balance of friendly and encouraging, yet very professional with an emphasis on progress. She sets high expectations and inspires her students through her own love of music. I would highly recommend Ms. Shandra to any student fortunate enough to work with her.

My kids have been learning to play the piano from Ms. Shandra for the past six years. So when writing this testimonial, I first asked my kids what they thought of Ms. Shandra as a teacher. I am paraphrasing what they said -- "Ms. Shandra is awesome! She knows everything about music, and she loves to share her knowledge." Ms. Shandra is a professional, and treats the kids with respect. I believe that my kids have learned a lot from her.

Shandra began teaching piano to our older daughter nearly four years ago. During that time, we have watched our child’s musical ability blossom under Shandra’s tutelage. Shandra brings her expertise in music along with an understanding of children and a calm, patient demeanor into our home every week. Our younger daughter was so envious of the progress her sister has made with Shandra that she became a student this year, too! In addition to the convenience of Shandra traveling to us for the lessons – a true gift as every busy parent knows – she has advised my children about numerous opportunities in the area for them to perform and hone their skills. We are truly grateful for the knowledge and joy she has brought them through music and look forward to our daughters learning from her for many years to come and know that her teaching gives them pride in a talent they will have for life.

Ms. Shandra Love is an amazing piano teacher and mentor for anyone seeking greater achievement and enjoyment in piano studies. I know her for more than 3 years now teaching my kids ( 11 and 8 now). She is highly experienced and very professional in her lessons and in the results she creates in her students. One of my favorite things about Ms. Shandra is that she will push the kids to do their utmost best with every piece, paying attention not only to technical detail but also to the emotion and story that every piece should express. The best part is that she does this kindly and patiently. She never lets the kids get away with shortcuts or mistakes but I am grateful for that because I know my kids will learn to play each piece the RIGHT way and therefore get more enjoyment out of their own playing. My kids look forward to meet her every week. I would recommend Ms. Shandra for anyone looking for a solid & enjoyable music education and for anyone willing to work hard for amazing results.

Ms. Love is the best piano teacher our family has ever had. After moving to Northern Virginia, we were nervous about finding a teacher that could address all learning styles in our family; after one class with Ms. Love, every concern disappeared. She customized her approach to all piano players in our family and now she teaches 4 students in our household from ages 4 to 64. With patience, focus on technique and a love of teaching, Ms. Love has transformed our piano playing over the past two years. We are more proficient, confident and passionate piano players because of her. Thank you, Ms. Love!!!
